RMLEFCU National Police Week Recap

National Police Week

In celebration of National Police Week, we hosted three open house events at our newly renovated branches. Each event was well attended by RMLEFCU members, their families, friends, and others involved in law enforcement. Entertainment at all the open houses included live music, a photo booth, catering, beverages, and giveaways.

Throughout National Police Week we participated in law enforcement related events around the Denver area. In addition to the events we hosted, our staff gave away swag at our branches during the week in appreciation of our membership and their commitment to law enforcement.

We are very proud to show off the renovations to our valued members. By redesigning our branches and investing in new technology, we have enhanced the member experience. These major physical changes reinforce the fact that our credit union is rock solid thanks to our loyal membership and dedicated leadership team.

Adulting: Choose a Budget

You know you need to choose a budget and you’ve avoided it long enough. In this post, let’s look at a few different budgets to see which one might suit your life. Regardless of how comprehensive a budget might be, if you’re not detail-oriented, you probably won’t stick to it. So choose a budget option that you think will work for you. Also, unless you are a stick-in-the-mud, cutting all the fun out of your budget is a recipe for failure. It’d like planning to eat kale for every meal and expecting to stick to your diet. Not gonna happen.

The first step in creating a budget is to set a goal. What are your financial goals?  Do you have debts to pay off?  Are you saving for something in particular like a trip? Do you simply want the peace of mind that comes with accurately tracked expenses?

Choosing a budget from one of the methods below is a good place to start. You may decide to slightly change it to meet to your individual needs.

RMLEFCU Marks National Police Week with Multiple Events

National Police Week events commemorate the lives of officers lost in the line of duty and show appreciation for the diligent work of our law enforcement officers each and every day.

Rocky Mountain Law Enforcement Federal Credit Union was established in 1938 and seventy-eight years later, remains committed to the service of those who serve ALL of us.

We’ve not only expanded our services but revamped our branch offices. We would like to extend an invite to our National Police Week open houses to our members and their friends and family.

Each of our National Police Week open houses feature live music with local bands, a free food truck and an open bar.

National Police Week Activities Honor Sacrifice and Stress Remembrance

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy declared May 15th as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and designated the calendar week in which this day occurs as National Police Week to honor law enforcement service and sacrifice. This year National Police Week runs from Sunday, May 15, 2016 through Saturday, May 21, 2016.

There are many national organizations who work diligently to ensure this week pays tribute to our fallen brothers and sisters. Below is a list and the individual events they manage.

National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund – This group is responsible for the May 13, 2016 Candlelight Vigil honoring law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty in 2015. The vigil takes place on the National Mall in Washington D.C. and those outside of D.C. can view it online by logging onto this site.  In 2015, 123 officers lost their lives and each of their names will be engraved on the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Judicial Square following the vigil.

Fraternal Order of Police/Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary (FOP/FOPA), which organizes the Memorial Service on the west front lawn of the U.S. Capitol. A wreath laying ceremony will immediately follow the service.
