The Importance of Interest (And How to Earn More of It)

The Importance of Interest

We all know higher interest rates equate to more money. This is one of the many reasons our members choose to be a part of a credit union! Credit unions notoriously have much higher interest rates than big banks, making them an attractive option for people looking to save some money. Which, let’s be honest, who isn’t? Here at RMLEFCU, we have plenty of ways for you to save and make some money just by having an account with us!

Kasasa Cash Checking Account

This exclusive FREE account gives members the opportunity to earn up to 3.00% APR* on their account balances. All you have to do is have at least one direct deposit or ACH payment transaction of $500 or more, make at least 12 signature-based debit card purchases, and be enrolled in and agree to receive eStatements each month to qualify. Odds are members are already doing all of these things, so why not start getting paid to do them!

Regular Savings Account

Opening this account will not only establish your membership with RMLEFCU but will earn you competitive dividends on balances of $100 or more. All you need is a $5 minimum deposit to open and you can begin enjoying all the benefits of being an RMLEFCU member which include low rates on a variety of loans and competitive dividends paid monthly on certain accounts.

Money Market Accounts

If you’re looking for an account to keep a larger amount of money, our Money Market accounts are a great option that uses tiered rates to reward higher balances. Earn competitive monthly dividends while retaining flexible access to your funds.

Share Certificates

If you’re willing to put a set amount of money away for a longer period of time without withdrawing funds, our Share Certificates could be the option for you. Earn higher guaranteed dividends for the longer the term you select (from 6 months to 5 years). These certificates provide more guarantee than riskier investments and offer fixed rates that are higher than regular savings accounts.

Be sure to see current rates on all RMLEFCU accounts and see how much more you could be earning! Click any heading in this post to open an account in minutes and start having your money work for you!
